Chronic Back Pain Relief at St. Louis Acupuncture
These studies are similar to a patient we had who was a man in his fifties. He was self employed working a desk job. 7 years before he came to the office he had lower back surgery and the last two bones of his spine were fused. We picked points on his hand to treat the lower back pain. One of the points was not He Gu but Ling Gu which is near He Gu, but in the crook between the first and second metacarpal bones of the hand. After five treatments over two weeks he was pain free and stayed that way.
Here are the pictures of the two points:
This point, Hé Gǔ, is one of the most used acupuncture points. It has been used for neck pain, facial pain, migraines, headaches, and common cold. Now, modern research has shown it to be effective for back pain.
Líng Gǔ is the next point that is used in our clinic frequently. This point comes from a different lineage than the usual points that are used in Traditional Chinese Medicine- The Tung Family Lineage. Master Tung*, who lived during the 20th century, used this point for Sciatica, leg pain, heel pain, shooting pains anywhere in the body, elbow pain, headache, migraines, Bell’s Palsy, tinnitus, frequent urination, menstrual problems, and hemiplegia.
Since Dr. Waltemate is a chiropractor, chiropractic treatment and rehab can be added to your treatment as well if they are needed. There is no need to go to two, three, or four practitioners. You can have acupuncture, chiropractic, and rehab in one visit.
*Master Tung is recognized as one of the greatest acupuncturists who has ever lived. Since he lived in the 20th century his treatments and cures have been verified. We tell our patients that he was “the Michael Jordan, the Hank Aaron, the Joe Montana of acupuncture.”
